MMT Minute Thoughts and Giveaway for VIOLENT NIGHT

I was bummed that I didn’t watch VIOLENT NIGHT in theaters but ecstatic when I got the screener for its January 20 release on digital. When I tell you the film is the good, thrilling time I was expecting, I tell no lies! “Violent Night” is Die Hard meets Home Alone meets Panic Room meets Miracle on 34th Street and wickedly fun – no wonder the producers of both John Wick and Nobody are behind it.

The film follows a drunk and disgruntled Santa Claus (David Harbour, Black Widow, Stranger Things) on his Christmas delivery journey, which happens to include a home whose wealthy inhabitants are being held hostage by a team of mercenaries.

Throw in family drama, a hidden stash of cash, a bit of comedy and gore – and a child’s innocent belief in Santa – and you have one thrilling holiday ride of a film.

Definitely not for the timid or faint of heart, “Violent Night” is a treasure for those who enjoy a bit of R-rated content along with their holiday cheer.

It gets a solid 3.5 out of 5 beats on the MMTrometer from me.

To try your luck at winning one of two digital codes, you must be actively subscribed to this site and send an email to contests@musicmoviesthoughts.com with the subject line “Violent Night” and your full name in the email (remember to send from one used to subscribe or list the name of your WordPress site in the email). Two winners will be selected and notified by Friday, January 27.

VIOLENT NIGHT is available now on digital, streaming on Peacock and releasing Tuesday, January 24 on Blu-ray and DVD.

Good luck! Thomasena
