GIVEAWAY: advance screening passes for DUNE (Philadelphia, PA)

Here’s a confession, I was eleven-years-old when the David Lynch directed “Dune” (1984) was released. I didn’t see the original in theaters, but when released on cable I watched it multiple times. Honestly, it wasn’t my favorite story and I haven’t watched again in decades, but I loved the grandeur of it all – and it had Sting!

But I’m hearing this new version, directed by Denis Villeneuve, is fantastic – especially on the big screen – so I’m excited to giveaway tickets for the Philly premiere happening October 18 in Center City.

To put your name in the hat to win one of 15 admit-two passes, you must be an active email subscriber/receive newsletter and send an email to with the subject line “Dune” and your full name in the body. Winners will be selected at random and notified on Saturday, October 16.

DUNE opens in theaters and streams on HBO Max October 22.

Good luck! Thomasena

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, DUNE tells the story of Paul Atreides, a young man gifted with mystic abilities and prophetic visions, destined to become the leader to restore peace among the warring factions of noble families, who for generations have vied for power to control their world’s most precious element – a prized spice with life-extending capabilities. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the exclusive supply of “the spice,” the most precious resource in existence — Paul must combat dangerous perils and malicious schemes against him to ensure the future of his family and his people… venturing into a world where only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
