Happy Sunday MMT Fam! Here is week sixteen’s virtual list featuring TV, online and streaming suggestions that you and/or the family can enjoy from home. I’m still sharing events on Instagram and/or the MMT Facebook page throughout the week, so hit those hyperlinks, give me a follow, and don’t forget to share the wealth with others!

  • NBCUniversal is offering a new, FREE streaming service called Peacock – which is home to thousands of hours of premium content, including curated channels from our friends over at FilmRise. The streaming carrier boasts hundreds of movies, along with thousands of episodes of binge-worthy TV shows, sports, news, and pop culture. Just a quick browse of it’s offerings and I noted several faves – including Spike Lee’s classic “Do The Right Thing,” the series “Celia” about the late Afro-Cuban legendary songstress Celia Cruz, and “I Am Ali” about the late, iconic heavyweight boxing champ Muhammad Ali. There’s something for everyone – from news shows and daytime & nighttime talk shows, to a kid’s corner with family friendly options and soap operas for those who love them. And there’s a premium option that unlocks full seasons of shows, live sports and more for $4.99 a month (there’s a 7-day free trial). Get additional info at the official website
  • Live Nation is helping you get your music fix with its #LiveFromHome recommendations featuring live albums and curated playlists from many of your favorite artists. You can click here to go to the official website and sign up for daily livestreams from artists around the globe.
  • The Gershman Philadelphia Jewish Film Festival has a series of virtual film screenings showcasing the intersection of Black and Jewish experiences in America. The three remaining films will air Monday, July 20, July 27 and August 3 at 7pm ET, with post-film discussions and guest speakers to be announced. There is a $10 general admission. Use code: sharStor2020AfAmJewish at check-out for $2 off any film! Get additional info and learn about the films at the official website here.
  • The Metropolitan Opera has launched a unique pay-per-view series featuring opera’s biggest stars performing across Europe and the United States. The series includes 12 live performances featuring the same unmatched production value as the Met’s Live in HD transmissions. The series kicked off Saturday, July 18, with a released schedule through December 19. Get additional info and buy tickets at the official website here.

That’s it for now Fam. Until next thought, Thomasena
