Happy New Year MMT Fam! Cheers to another year, with hopes that you achieve all that you set out in this new one. I’m sharing again this year a list (what I was able to locate) of awards ceremonies with dates, times and channels, starting with tonight’s Globes ceremony, as follows:
- Golden Globe Awards– the 76th annual show airs tonight January 6th at 8pm EST on NBC. Actors Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg will share dual hosting duties.
- Screen Actors Guild Awards– the 25th annual SAG awards will air live Sunday, January 27th on both TBS and TNT at 8pm EST. The ceremony will be hosted by actor Megan Mullally, with the 55th Lifetime Achievement Award honors going to award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, polymath and advocate for science communication Alan Alda.
- Trumpet Awards – The 27th annual Trumpet Awards, which honors African-American achievement, is expected to air February 2019 on Bounce TV but an air date and hosts have not yet been announced (check local listings for updates).
- Grammy Awards – the 61st annual ceremony will air Sunday, February 10th at 8pm EST on CBS. This year’s host has not yet been announced. Dolly Parton is being honored in a ceremony two days prior as the MusicCares Person Of The Year.
- Academy Awards (Oscars) – the 91st annual Oscars will air Sunday, February 24th at 8:00pm EST on ABC. Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’re aware of the current hosting fiasco and unfortunately a host(s) has yet to be announced.
- iHeartRadio Music Awards – in its 6th year, the iHeartRadio Music awards will air live on Thursday, March 14 on Fox at 8pm EST.
- NAACP Image Awards – the 50th annual ceremony will air live – for the first time from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA – on Saturday, March 30th on TV One. Host(s) and air time have yet to be announced (check local listings for updates).
- Billboard Music Awards – the ceremony is airing Wednesday, May 1 at 8pm on NBC, with a delayed West Coast telecast at 8 PM PT. Host(s) have not yet been announced (check local listings for updates).
Okay MMT Fam, that’s what I’ve been able to find so far through May. With tonight’s exception of course, I hope this gives you a good heads up and baseline to work and prepare for awards season.
