Happy Wednesday MMT Fam! We’re giving away a copy of the drama SGT* WILL GARDNER newly released on DVD and Blu-Ray. Highlighting the battles many soldiers face returning home from war, the film tells the story of Iraq War veteran Will Gardner (Max Martini), who is dealing with the residual effects of a traumatic brain injury suffered in combat and post-traumatic stress disorder – both making his return to civilian life extremely challenging.
After a series of setbacks, Will decides to take a cross county bike trip with the intention of reuniting with his son. A friend from the war named Sam (Omari Hardwick) meets up with him on his journey to reflect on his life and find a way to peace and redemption.
Written and directed by Martini, the film also stars Lily Rabe (American Horror Story), Elisabeth Rohm (Joy), Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County), Robert Patrick (Mayans M.C.) and Gary Sinise (Apollo 13).
The film was produced by Martini and filmmaking partner Michael Hagerty under their production moniker Mona Vista Productions, which is donating a portion of the film’s proceeds to three charities that support veterans suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and veteran homelessness: Higher Ground, Warriors Heart, and the Gary Sinise Foundation.
